Department of Marine Engineering

About the Department

       The department of marine engineering was also established in 2002.Currently,it offers a bachelor degree of marine engineering. It is the 5 years programme. (60) students are admitted every year. The facilities and services such as engine room simulator lab, eddy current break dynamometer lab, refrigeration and air condition lab, fluid mechanic lab, machinery lab, library, computer lab, workshop are administrated by the university.
       The course is designed to cover the basic knowledge and training required by those who are seeking to become Engine Officers. Fundamental subjects are based on the minimum requirements for certification of officer in charge of the Engineering watch on ship of 750 kW and above propulsion power, as set out in the table A-III/1 of STCW Code of the Convention.

Aims and Objectives

       This study program aims to produce the skillful marine engineers for Ocean Going Merchant Vessels, Ship Management, Maritime Education and Training Institute, Maritime Equipment Manufacturing Industry and Shipyard.

Objectives

       Programme shall ensure to deliver a high quality teaching to have the high learning outcomes by Marine Engineering students of each year.
